Kirkkaanvihreän nousu muodissa alkoi kolmisen vuotta sitten. Muistan tuolloin täydellisen Bree van de Kampin yhdistäneen hienosti kirkkaanvihreän paidan ja tumman denimin, chic!
Vihreää löysi vielä tänäkin vuonna monen valmistajan valikoimista: Vero Modalla oli huikea mekko, Marimekolla ihana samettinen kaima (no, tosin se oli viime syksy) ja Gantilla oli vihreitä purkkareita (kuva alla). Ralph Laurenilla oli vihreää palmikkoneuletta.
Syksyn kokoelmat eivät näytä enää vihreää. Mutta on yksi merkittävä syy jatkaa vihreiden vaatteiden käyttämistä: vihreä nimittäin tutkimusten mukaan lisää luovuutta. Esimerkiksi anagrammien ratkaisu sujui tutkimustilanteessa huomattavasti paremmmin, kun koehenkilön koodinumero oli kirjoitettu paperiin vihreällä kuin punaisella.
Vihreän voima perustuu sen rentouttavaan vaikutukseen. Ihmismieli tulkitsee vihreän tarkoittavan sitä, että ruokaa on tarjolla yllin kyllin (siis kasvillisuutta) ja nyt voi rentoutua.

Muoti on markkinamiesten keksintö ja tarkoitettu ihmisille, jotka eivät itse osaa pukeutua. Tämä kirjoitus on hyvä esimerkki: koska vihreä ei ole enää sisäänostajien mielestä "in", täytyy siihen pukeutumista perustella oikein Internetissä saakka.
